To introduce more people to Bay Leaves, I am having a giveaway. One lucky reader will receive a free 10×15 inch fine art print from my husband’s travel and nature photography website Bay Images. It has a retail value of $100, and I will pay for shipping. Here’s all you have to do to enter:
1. Go to Bay Images and select the image that you would like to receive if you are the winner.
2. Leave a comment on this post, including the number of the image you would like to receive as a 10×15 print.
3. Don’t forget to include your email address so I can contact you if you are the winner (don’t worry – you will not be on any mailing lists).
4. The deadline is MONDAY, OCTOBER 19, 2009 at 12:00 PM NOON Pacific Time. I will draw a name at random and the winner’s name will be posted by noon Pacific Time on Tuesday, October 20, 2009. At that time, I will contact the winner to arrange to ship the print.
Good luck! Please feel free to tell other folks about this giveaway.
Wow Kara! Stephen has quite a collection! And your blog is very informative. You have been to some great places!
I can’t choose a print – they are all beautiful. (I’ll pick one if I win..)
ooh, so hard to decide. but i really like #2272 of the white pelicans (so beautiful the softness of the pink light on the river and the whiteness of their feathers) and #9896 of Machu Picchu – who can resist those mountains? i have to keep browsing the photos because there’s so many of them!
What great photos! I’ve been to some of the places so they are fun to revisit, many, many places are new to me. Your photos make me want to go explore them. I’m torn between #75 and #15435. But I think if I won I’d choose #275 for my daughter whose anniversary is on the 4th of July.
Wow! Great Photos, so many to choose from. My favorites are 2870, 3046 and 12387.
If I win you can pick either of the three and I will be happy. Of course the ones of the baby kangaroo’s are just adorable and that would be okay also. So many beautiful pictues makes me want ot get my camera out and shoot away. My birthday is coming up and what a great present!
I’m thinking of #17231 or #17278 for Uncle Ken for Christmas as he “loves” the Grand Canyon. He still works for the Forest Service here in Tallahassee, Florida, but would love to visit there sometime. He teaches a Sunday School class on Creation verses Evolution and these pictures would really be an asset for teaching about the Flood! Take care, Love, Aunt Carol
Your work is amazing! So very hard to chose, I would have to say since I just love nature and birds I would love to hang Belding’s savannah sparrow, Photo #1306 in my home. Julie
My favorite is Photo #5434
Ok, Photo #1505 and Photo #198 and Photo #1592 and Photo #1603 would make me very happy too
Oh, wow, those are some amazing photos. I’m having difficulty choosing between 10033, 1306, and 9987 right now! In the unlikely event I win, can I come to a decision then? (In fact I may well have to come back and buy one or two anyway once I get back from holidays!)
Now off to read the Bhutan entries…
What a great collection of photography .. It wasn’t easy to pick just one But I really love Photo #5985
Thanks
Congratulations, Steve & Kara, on your complementary talents, artistry, vision, curiosity and lively sense of adventure. Truly magnificent.
Two very favorite images:
#14228 sleeping baby variegated squirrel
# 1592 little pied cormorant
Oh wow. I love the look of the Machu Pichu picture. Photo #9896
But the Thor’s Hammer picture in Utah was quite tempting too!
I really don’t know how you expect us to pick just one… there are so many photos that took my breath away! Since we love Chicago so much, I’ll pick #10534, but, really, I couldn’t say which one was my favorite!
I’ve really enjoyed reading your travel blog, too!
I have the perfect place for picture #8035 if I win… WHEN I win
Always an LA girl at heart! I’ve read parts of your blog – your writing style is very personal and I like that! I went to the silent movie theatre for the first time last year, and I thought about you. Hello to Stephen (he takes great pics!).
Kara, it is like choosing which one is the most beautiful child…they’re all truly amazing. I am very partial to trees though and those are whispering to me right now…stunning.
My heart skipped a beat when I saw this one-
Will Rogers Memorial Park. Beverly Hills, California, USA
Photo #7867
So many luscious images…
Wow. What talent. Will choose a photo if I am the lucky winner : ) \
BTW, loved both websites!
Gorgeous mahjong pictures. #17180 is my favourite (17186 is better, but it gets blurry a bit too steeply for my tastes). Thanks, lovely contest!
fascinating photos. I love the photo sets under Australia, Costa Rica & Peru.
It’s hard to choose but I finally picked this one:
Machu Picchu, Peru.
Photo #10117

I love #1764, makes me think of the road less traveled!
Wow, what amazing photography! He’s quite a talented photographer. If I had to choose I think I’d pick this gorgeous sky – #14273. Thanks for the opportunity!
I’m dumbstruck by his photography … sent the link to my Dad (also a photographer) … meanwhile, the photo I LOVE is #9971 Entrance gate to Machu Picchu and Huayna Picchu (background). Machu Picchu, Peru.
Thank you for this amazing introduction to his work, and the chance to own a print.
I could not pick a favorite, but I really like the Baby sea Turtle reaches the Carribean Sea #14034.
Amazing photographs. My fave is The Bald Eagle –Photo #2509
:o)

Debbie L
(PS Thank you for the email instructing me what to do… sorry, I didnt read your instructions more carefully! :D)
It was difficult to pick a favorite. There were so many amazing photographs. The animal and flower photographs were amazing, but I think my favorite was Photo #1609. I think that is the most beautiful bird I’ve ever seen.
The photographs are all absolutely breath taking. I just spent the good part of two hours arm chair traveling thanks to them. They really are beautiful. Steve has a fantastic eye. Choosing 1 is, to say the least, a herculean task. #1599 caught me with his relaxed pose. Though all the Macchu Picu pics made me want to book a flight asap. The baby turtle shots were also beckoning. Very hard choice. Thanks for the opportunity. I love both your sites.
Cheers!

It was so hard to pick! I loved so many of them, but I think I narrowed it down to #3925 (Westminster Hall Cemetary door)
I read about your website and my curiostiy brought me here. I love all the photos. Awesome work! I live in Chicago, and have always wanted a photo shot of my wonderful city (besides my collection of postcards). When I moved here, my spirit sprouted wings! I could not afford to purchase a photo such as these, so I am hoping to be the lucky winner, as the photo would be sent to me in an unexpected form. Photo #10644, Chicago Skyline at Sunrise speaks to my heart. Thank you for your generous offer. donna hartt
Kara, this is a great site. Stephen’s photos a lovely.
I’d choose Photo #19584, which is from my hubby’s Colin’s hometown. He loves First Nation art.
Peace
Beth Howard
Love them all! You are so lucky to have visited such amazing places! #83155 is a great pic though and perfect for my kitchen. Although maybe if I chose the pic of one of the cities, people would think I’m as well traveled as you.
I like the sunset Amazon Peru-Photo #8893
You have a great site here. Thanks for visiting my blog so that I found yours. Welcome back from Bhutan.. and as for the photos. I just fell in love with that flower holding wallaby..
What great pictures! I think I would like Photo #19264 the most . . . it’s moving to me.

I love Dahlia Photo #4389, it would look fantastic in my dining room!
What lovely photographs! I like the ones from Canyon de Chelly. I think they really capture the majesty of the place (I once spent a blissful day hiking up and down the Baby Trail there). Picture #18435 in particular gives you a feel for just how enormous and expansive the canyon is. I love it!
This is AMAZING photography! It was so hard to pick just one! But I’d have to pick #7876, of the gate at Paramount Studios. *sighs* Dreams!

I would like the 6th picture of Kara because she is beautiful. In that picture she looks alot like my daughter, her cousin Brenda. All the pictures are fantastic and can see her husband is a very talented photographer.
Wow, absolutely breathtaking, I really liked the orange clouds from the sunset at the Grand Canyon #177330. Thank you for reminding us of the beauty that is in our back yards
